Keith Stechschulte is an Ohio native and raised on a corn and soybean farm in Northwest Ohio that is farmed by his brother, sister-in-law and their family today. He obtained his B.S and M.S. in Agricultural Economics from The Ohio State University in 1991 and 1993, respectively. Stechschulte has over 30 years of experience in the Farm Credit System serving Northeast agriculture as a lender, branch manager and then joined the senior leadership team in 2020 as regional manager overseeing the seven office Eastern Region. He currently serves as Executive Vice President–Retail Credit Leader leading the seven retail credit regions and appraisal teams at Farm Credit East. Stechschulte’s primary responsibilities include promoting a growth culture with the retail credit team and leading the team in providing an outstanding customer experience with every interaction. He is also responsible for developing and promoting a consistent credit culture by serving as a member of the Farm Credit East Credit Committee and through leadership of the Credit Solutions Team which serves as the association’s approval desk. In addition to his Farm Credit East responsibilities, Stechschulte currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for Connecticut Farmland Trust and has been a board member since 2017. He previously served on the steering committee of Connecticut Working Lands Alliance and on the University of Connecticut College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources Dean’s Advisory Committee.
